I’ve been to places, I’ve never seen; From Sunny Queensland, to the Maribrynong’s Greens
Travelled high, but mainly low, in the comfort of the back seat, you know.
From Ballarat to Bendigo And everywhere else we want to go I'm happy to sleep, In the back of the Jeep.
Where it’s hilly and green, To where the sun has never seen, Unknown faces watching me As I sit and wait to go pee.
Quietly I lay and wait for mummy Sometimes people passing think I'm a stuffed toy or rubber dummy.
I know this is my second home As it’s the place I’ve always known.
I sit and stare and watch things go by All alone in the car, but I don’t cry.
The back seat is cushy and comfy It’s even soft when we go bumpy
Sometimes all day I stay, in the back seat to lay I got my water, my toys and my glory Even when the rain is pouring
New Smells, new sites Mummy takes me everywhere with pride
I roll around the seat, as we turn the corners of the street Tooting horns and V8’s rev past I love back seat travelling, it’s a blast.
I only been sick once on my seat But poor mummy was more worried about my feet.
From the vet to grans and through the unknown, I'm the back seat traveler and OH how I’ve grown!
From Brimbank to Chirnside To sleep in the car overnight From Sunday’s training I can’t wait for another drive in
When I heard the car alarm beep I jump with joy and even let out a squeak
Never have I cried, When I was left inside I love to travel in the car Even if it’s not to go far
I don’t tear or damage my seat And am even careful when I eat I am the travelling king, Even help mummy sing
I love to travel by far I love the attention, I'm a Star
If you ever see a big black GSD Know it is me on my throne the “Back Seat”
So put up your hands and wave, it’s ME The back seat Traveler Indeed
